This is my first entry into the world of blogging. Let's have a good exchange of sports information and ideas!

  1. Kick ass, Dan! How about as a first topic: What should the Yankees do about/with Joba? My vote is to kick him off the island.

  2. sorry, i'm a little bit behind on my reading and my TV viewing, but do the Yankees still have the dreaded "Joba Rules?"

  3. joba average fastball velocity in '09 was 92.5, about two miles-per-hour less than in '08.

  4. joba about three miles-per-hour less off his fastball in '09 as compared to '08.

  5. It's Friday night and the Tampa Bay Rays are in a defensive match against the dreaded BoSox in bean town. It's like 2008 all over again. I think the Rays are back to that winning formula of stiffling defense.

  6. By the way: Great idea, Dan, for a sports blog! I won't pretend to be as knowledgable as you are, but thanks for allowing me to pull up a chair!

  10. historic day at "the big ball orchard in the bronx." on this day in 1951, "the mick" made his debut in right field (joe d. still patrolled center field), and bob sheppard made his debut as the yankees public address announcer. please forgive, i like to squeeze in some yankee minutia whenever i can.

  14. What a debut. Is this Christopher or Jake? Sounds like a 5-tool player. I'm immediately drafting him on my fantasy team. He's the next Mantle.

  15. yo berg, i already responded to your last post, but some reason my comment didn't register. i'm tellin' ya this blogging thing ain't easy. anyway, is this christopher or jake? sounds like a 5-tool player. i want it known right now that i have first dibs on drafting your son into my fantasy league. sounds like he's the next mantle. but no pressure.

  16. Friends, for some reason there are times when my blogs haven't been posted. so i apologize if my responses arrive late, or, not at all. For example, I submitted two opinions about my friend's son, but as i type this, only one post has been registered.

  17. A friend of mine has informed me that keyboarding in lower case is distracting. Do you feel the same way? In the future I'm going to try and write in Upper/lower case. It's just easier for me to type in lower case because I'm not skilled at keyboarding and using caps slows me down even more. Thoughts?

  18. its my little guy jake, chris is a freshman at rutgers, how old am i.Hes come back down to earth, hitting 390 thru 16 games, but he did leap over fence to rob a homerun the other day.Got to love living thru your kids sports.Funny how times have changed, tigers affairs all over the media but when DR J was fathering a new kid every month we never heard about it.Went to a memorial service the other day for that duck coach shafranski killed on the 18th at bunker hill, very touching ceramony.

  19. The scouts must be drooling. I would've loved to have seen that catch. Best part of the deal is he's playing sports and having fun. Too many kids pack it in during their teenage years. I'm sure you see that more than I do. Must be great having two sons. What I wouldn't do.
